Yet another insidious conspiracy theory...

Not that any voice of reason is listened to anymore but here is my two cents on a brand new conspiracy theory. The story going around the net is that at 1:58 into the Dark Knight Rises there is an image of Sandy Hook neighborhood of Gotham as a Bane target on a map. This is being given as proof somehow the movie predicted the horror of Dec 14^th. Thing is Gotham is an alternate name for NYC and everything in Gotham is really a reference to NYC. Just south of NYC on the north coast of NJ is a bit of land that sticks out called Sandy Hook. It would make perfect sense for someone drawing a fantasy NYC/Gotham map to include that name as a southern neighborhood of Gotham. Anyway reason and rational thinking have little to do with internet group thinking so carry on with crazy conspiracy theories. I happen to follow conspiracy theories as a kind of hobby but I have more sense than to actually believe them.

That Cheshire Grin

This morning I saw Joel Osteen on the Today show or one of those other morning coffee news light shows. He as always sounded pleasant and had that painted on smile. It's hard not to like him but you know somehow I always managed to feel a little queasy when I see him. Yesterday morning on his Sunday Morning broadcast I finally understood what is that is inherently wrong with him. I don't mean theologically I have understood why is theology is crap for years. I overlook bad theology most people are morons about theology anyway. No it is much deeper. His belief system removes normal compassionate understanding and tolerance. He demonstrated it with a story he told of driving through a Houston neighborhood with what he described as “sloppy houses” one after the other of poorly kept lawns and houses in need of fresh paint. Then he came across a house with a nice lawn and good paint job. He was impressed and latter learned the owner went to his mega church. This demonstrated the superiority of his congregation everyone was terribly pleased with themselves for their neat lawns and well painted houses. Not once did the thought occur to him many of the people in those sloppy houses may have had financial or health problems. Perhaps cancer had drained their household funds. Perhaps they were elderly and could not afford a lawn service. There are hundreds of reasons people may not be able to avoid a “sloppy house” Unlike people like Osteen and his daddy before him these people are not given large amounts of donations from total strangers for doing nothing but smiling and saying pleasantries on TV. The very thought of organizing neighborhood volunteers to help improve the neighborhood did not occur to him; he merely judged all the sloppy house people and praised the neat house. All theology aside and there is plenty in the Bible to condemn him; just from a basic sense of common decency he fails to be as human as he could be. He equates success and leisure with faith and devotion. He invents a world where goodness and worldly success go hand in hand and by implication poverty and disease are associated with a lack of faith and being in an ungodly state. The basic truth that everyone gets old weak and dies is ignored in his worldview. It is incredibly childish. I now know clearly why I have that uneasy feeling when I see that Cheshire grin.

The war on Christmas

Most the home owners are having their campaign rallies all over town in buildings that once held worship services. Apartment parking lots are full. Two worlds living blocks apart but worlds away each Sunday morning in America.

Sims are crazy but I still say people are crazier

Firefighter Part 1

If your sim has a skill based LT wish particularly Tinkerer or Perfect Mind Perfect Body wish then Firefighter is the perfect job. Several skills are easily developed at the Fire Station and once the sims reaches Level 10 they can work from home so really best job for skill building. Plus good when early in the game low on simoleons since can survive well at the fire station. Down side not good pay. I like to have long term sims that either have epic lifespan or aging off to start life as firefighters regardless of their LT wish Great for sims that will be saved to library for use in other games. Firefighter sims learn the Handy Athletic skills very useful for all sorts of scenarios. Firefighters make great tomb raider after watching normal sims hack away at rubble piles it is refreshing to see a firefighter smash them in a couple of swings particularly when they have the axe of pangu. Being fireproof is very useful for inventors and sculptors. It's a fun job for the most part particularly when first playing.

Don't much care for the Ghost Hunter and Detective Jobs but the Firefighter is fun.

Sim has fun as well here getting a little guitar time before heading back to the station.

 Fellow Firefighters. Brave? Uh well no.

Dedicated? No.

 Smart? They are sims

Anything like real world firefighters? Thank the great programmer in the sky no they are not.

Think your average office cubicle slash drone pod job.

Think of the one office dude doing his job while the rest stand at the water cooler gossiping and thinking of ways to blame everything on that schmuck doing all the work yeah that's your co firefighters in Sims 3 They aren't even the finest citizens of your sim town they are the homeless sims who hang out in the park. Your sim still has to befriend these clowns it's part of the job criteria but not big one so best keep your sim out of the break room the food left lying around by the clowns will drive your sims mood down. Hey kids not a good picture of firefighting but get ready for the average office job it's scary how much it's like the sim fire department.

 

 Gets the cool pick up line " I'm a firefighter" works almost as well as in real life.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Creep factor

Lots of things about the Sims are just a bit creepy. You can have one of your sims look in the window of other sims and then you can see all the sims house and the sims inside. Weird factor when the sims come out to shoo your sim away if they have high enough charisma or reward such as attractive or eye candy it's real easy for the peeping sim to make friends with the peeped. Yeah like that's how it works in real life.

An even bigger moron than Xander Clavelle is Jared Frio saw this little biatch dancing like a girl on the counter at the Grind Sunset branch so EDITed the gender and gave some more friendly traits.

 

This is why I am not God all the little gangsta thugs would all be gender reassigned in my world.

 

We do have the technology and it would solve a lot of crime issues... just a thought.

Riverview and Create a World

I downloaded Riverview and Create a World from the Sims 3 / EA website can't get them to work no response from EA and the forums are useless on the Sims 3 site full of snotty replies by snarky little punks who don't have the problem have no idea how to solve the problem but still give stupid answers that belittle the people who can not get Riverview and CAW to work. This is why I will not order download towns and have serious reservations about buying into Sims 4 when it comes out. If EA wants me to pay for download worlds then FIRST PROVE Riverview can be fixed so it plays but EA has remained silent on this issue. Too busy cranking out the next product before fixing the old products. I very much enjoy the Sims but EA is lacking in customer service. They have much to prove before I spend money on the Sims 4
I will continue to enjoy Sims 3 (Would love the CAW if it worked) I may even buy some more CD expansion packs (I have no reason to trust downloads)

New Sunset Valley Part Two

Llama Stadium was torn down and a fishing resort (Buena Vista from Brideport) built on the site

Butterfly Esplanade replaced the moved Science Facility

The Bloc from Twinbrook (Sans the Racketts) added to snoot hill. These lots are also good for importing the clubs from Bridgeport. Easy to move the Altos and Landgraabs down to live with the peasants sometimes I move the Langraabs and Altos in with the Clavelles and Andrews and see how long it takes for them to move. Or move them all in with the Goths Goth Manor also makes a good import spot but I like the Goths being there so I pretty much leave them there most of the time.

Replace Sunset Valley City Hall with Bridgeport Public Services offices allows to keep a military presence but tear down the fort. Also tear down the Police station and move the Fire Department to that loaction. Then Build a science Facility/ Fishing Spot where the Fire department is automaticaly placed in updated Sunset Valley making room for the Butterfly Esplanade at the Science Facilty I like the Public Services Offices because you can consolidate three rabbit holes in one place. Allowing for more customization elsewhere on the map. Yeah Plumbob is another rabbit hole but looks cool nect to the shuttle and runway next to the old fort.

The simmale unpixeled nude glitch

I have Sims 3 with Ambitions, World Adventures and Late Night thinking about adding some more expansion packs soon. Just recently stumbled upon the nude glitch. Arthurias my klepto Master Thief was real stressed out and low mood so had him get fresh clean clothes from the dryer then take a bubble bath. The Bath took longer than I guessed and the carpool shows up. So canceled the bath, he ignored the command to admire the golden fox (The reward Master Theives get) and off he went to work naked and not with any pixels covering him up. Like Ken of Barbie fame Athurias really does'nt have anything to hide under the pixels. I have read of other players encountering this glitch. As for as I know it only works with male sims. Unlike when sims are in underwear or swimwear in inappropriate places no sims seem to notice, sims met for first time will start with disliked status but say nothing.

The combo of clean clothes from dryer with interrupted bath by carpool seems to work most of the time with a male sim for the go unpixeled nude but I have not been able to get a female sim to do same I guess even in Simland females are just a bit smater than males. I have tried the same scenario with many variations to get a female sim to run to work naked. I even changed Arthurias gender. NOPE has to be a male sim.

Hank Goddard is not pleased with Arthurias being so friendly to Pauline Wan but seems unaware of the lack of clothes.

 

Weird glitch would prefer femsims also have the glitch but I guess the programers at EA are not interested.

Xandrette Clavell

I have been playing Sim 3 for almost year and Xander Clavell started getting on my nerves so it was time he finally had her gender reassignment in Edit in CAS (you can edit non active sims) Just a few adjustments and changes to her very irritating personality. Xandrette is a more pleasant contributor to the Sunset Valley community.
